Calculation Process

1. Room Area: Calculated by multiplying the room length by the width.
2. Number of Cuts: Determined by dividing the room width by the carpet roll width and rounding up.
3. Total Carpet Needed: Multiplied by the number of cuts, roll width, and room length.
4. Waste: The difference between the total carpet used and the actual room area.

Example Calculation

For a room of 15 ft by 12 ft and a carpet roll width of 4 ft:

• Room Area: 15 × 12 = 180 sq ft
• Cuts: 12 ÷ 4 = 3 cuts
• Total Carpet Needed: 3 × 15 × 4 = 180 sq ft
• Waste: 180 - 180 = 0 sq ft
