Plate Cost Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the Plate Cost:
\[ PC = L \times W \times T \times CPSI \]
Where:

  • PC is the Plate Cost ($)
  • L is the length (in)
  • W is the width (in)
  • T is the thickness (in)
  • CPSI is the cost per cubic inch ($/in³)

How to Calculate Plate Cost?

To calculate the plate cost:

  1. Measure the length, width, and thickness of the plate in inches.
  2. Determine the cost per cubic inch of the material.
  3. Multiply the length by the width, then by the thickness, and finally by the cost per cubic inch.
  4. The result is the total plate cost.

Example Calculation

If you have a plate with a length of 10 inches, a width of 5 inches, a thickness of 2 inches, and a cost per cubic inch of $0.50, the Plate Cost is calculated as follows:
\[ PC = 10 \times 5 \times 2 \times 0.50 = 50 \text{ dollars} \]
