The Wind Force Level Calculator allows users to input wind speed in meters per second (m/s) and determine the corresponding wind force level according to the Beaufort scale. The Beaufort scale is a widely used standard for measuring wind speed and its effects, ranging from 0 (Calm) to 12 (Hurricane force).

Beaufort Scale Overview

  • 0 (Calm): Wind speed less than 0.3 m/s.
  • 1 (Light air): Wind speed from 0.3 to 1.5 m/s.
  • 2 (Light breeze): Wind speed from 1.6 to 3.3 m/s.
  • 3 (Gentle breeze): Wind speed from 3.4 to 5.5 m/s.
  • 4 (Moderate breeze): Wind speed from 5.6 to 7.9 m/s.
  • 5 (Fresh breeze): Wind speed from 8.0 to 10.7 m/s.
  • 6 (Strong breeze): Wind speed from 10.8 to 13.8 m/s.
  • 7 (High wind): Wind speed from 13.9 to 17.1 m/s.
  • 8 (Gale): Wind speed from 17.2 to 20.7 m/s.
  • 9 (Strong gale): Wind speed from 20.8 to 24.4 m/s.
  • 10 (Storm): Wind speed from 24.5 to 28.4 m/s.
  • 11 (Violent storm): Wind speed from 28.5 to 32.6 m/s.
  • 12 (Hurricane force): Wind speed over 32.7 m/s.

This calculator is useful for various applications, including weather forecasting, maritime navigation, and outdoor activities where wind conditions are crucial for safety and planning.
